AVI means Audio Video Interleave and it is a type of file used by most computer using Windows and Media players. The .AVI format file extension was introduced by Microsoft in November 1992. AVI Files can have both audio and video data in a file which helps synchronous audio-with-video playback.

In spite of some features, like mulitiple streaming audio, video hardly ever used. AVI files just support them such as the DVD video format. And it can be seen by VLC Player, Windows Media Player or KMPlayer program.
